Whenever you remove impurities from gold, its beauty comes out. Crude oil only becomes useful once separated and purified of any contaminant and impurities. In the same way, your best will never come out until your life is free of filth and impurities. There are things inside of you that you will not see until you begin to walk uprightly. The level of your shining is proportionate to the level of your purity. You will never live to your full potential until your life is free of impurities. You were created to shine, you were born to impact your world but the level of your impact is determined by the level of your purity.
Living clean in a contaminated world simply means living holy. Yes, you may have heard it over and again, however, you now need to take the time to consider it because lack of it may be what is limiting your life.
What Holiness is… And is not
What is holiness? Before I define what holiness is, I’d like to define what holiness is not. Holiness is not frowning your face all the time, it is not putting on the longest skirt, and it is not singing or praying for a long time. Holiness is not refusing to speak with the opposite sex or refusing to use modern technology because you think it is a sin- all these are as a result of ignorance and poverty mentality.
What then is holiness? It is simple and absolute obedience to God. Never you alter the word of God to fit your lifestyle, but rather alter your lifestyle to fit God’s word. Never you add to the word of God to justify your wayward and loose lifestyle, rather, adjust you lifestyle to fit God’s word. The good news is that God’s commandments are not burdensome, oppressive or grievous (1John 5:3)
You must realize this, God loves you. He is not against your enjoyment, in fact the reason Jesus came was for you to enjoy life to the fullest. When we get to heaven, you will realize there is no dull moment, no sad moment, heaven is filled with joy, wealth and greatness. The Bible says in the presence of God there is fullness of joy. I said all this to make a point: if God tells you not to do something, it is because He loves you and He knows that if you do that thing you will be limited. This is the reason you should stick with God and His word. He says ‘I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ (Jer. 29:11)
Your best will never show up if you keep compromising and living a life of double standards. You will not experience miracles if you keep cutting corners and settling for a low life. Many have traded their glorious destinies for sex, money, friends, certificates, pleasure and the likes. But you are worth more than all these.
Hell is Still Real
There are certain truths you need to face and prepare for in life, one of them is this: you will not be young forever. Secondly, whether you realize it or not, you will die one day- for some of you reading this it may be soon (because of your kind of lifestyle). Thirdly, there is a hell to avoid. Nobody should lie to you; your life doesn’t end on earth. The kind of life you live here will determine where you spend your life after here. Hell is still real, it was prepared for the devil and his angels, but anyone who lives like the devil will follow him to hell. Here is an excerpt from the book “I believe in Visions” by Kenneth E. Hagin on his visit to hell:
‘I wish I had adequate words to describe the horrors of hell. People go through this life so complacently, so unconcerned as if they will not have to face hell. But God’s word and my own personal experience tell me differently. I know what it is to be unconscious- it is black when you are unconscious- but there is no blackness to compare with the outer darkness of hell’.
Purity Pays – Big Time
Living clean in a contaminated world positions you for mind-blowing miracles, perpetual relevance and generational impact. Do you remember Joseph, he told Potiphar’s wife, ‘How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God’. His reward: God made him a prime minister in a strange land (the world power in those days). What about Daniel and his three friends, they purposed in their hearts not to defile themselves like their other Hebrew brothers were enjoying. Their reward: ‘As for these four children God gave them Knowledge and understanding in all learning and wisdom: and God gave Daniel understanding in all visions and dreams.’ Their second pay: ‘The king talked with them and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. Their third pay: In every matter of wisdom and understanding, about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.’ What a pay!
Holiness makes pacesetters, high-flyers, trailblazers and record breakers. You don’t know what you miss when you sell your birthright for temporal pleasure. God has not brought you this message to condemn you but to let you know it is time to change sides. Join the holiness side; take a stand even if it means standing alone. God has so much for you but your sins have shortened His hands.You can be pure and beautiful. In fact purity makes your beauty exceptional. May today mark the beginning of your journey to striking testimonies as you chose to live clean in a contaminated world.
